EXPLORE HOUMA ANNOUNCES LOCAL ARTIST BEHIND GEOTOUR PAINTED CACHES
Explore Houma is proud to recognize local artist Lisa Landry as the creative talent behind the hand-painted geocaches featured throughout Houma’s GeoTour.
With more than 30 geocaches hidden across Terrebonne Parish, Houma’s GeoTour has become one of the area’s most unique ways for visitors and locals to explore Louisiana’s Bayou Country. While participants search for hidden caches across museums, parks, waterways and local landmarks, they are also discovering miniature works of art created by Landry herself.
Each painted cache is thoughtfully designed to reflect the culture and personality of the location it represents. From bayou wildlife and local seafood to music, history and Cajun culture, the artwork helps tell the story of Houma in a creative and memorable way.

“Lisa’s artwork adds so much personality to our GeoTour experience,” said Sondra Corbitt, President/CEO of Explore Houma. “These caches are more than just stops along a trail. They give visitors another way to connect with the culture and creativity that make this area so special.”
Landry, who has long been inspired by the beauty and traditions of South Louisiana, approached each cache with the goal of making every discovery feel personal and fun for visitors.
“I wanted each piece to feel connected to the place where it’s hidden,” said Landry. “The bayou has such a unique culture and character, and it was exciting to bring that to life through these designs.”
Houma’s GeoTour is one of only a limited number of official GeoTours worldwide and invites participants to use geocaching technology to uncover hidden caches throughout the region. Along the way, visitors experience local attractions, scenic views, culture, food and history at their own pace.
