Keep’n Louisiana Beautiful

Explore Houma recently participated in Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s cleanup initiative ‘Love the Boot Week’ during April 18-24. This state-wide initiative encourages all to do their part to keep our great state of Louisiana beautiful by picking up trash, and to promote this great cause, we implemented the Trash Bag Challenge!

Our staff kicked off the week by pulling up their gloves and stepping outside to fill a trash bag with litter found near our Visitor Center. We then nominated local businesses to join the cause. When their trash bag was filled, they nominated more businesses – creating a ripple effect.

Filling one bag at a time with trash is a small step in the right direction to making a huge impact to Keep Louisiana Beautiful!
