Cajun French Music Association Bayou Cajun Chapter Presents ALLONS DANSER
Houma, LA — Get ready to kick up your heels and pass a good time at ALLONS DANSER, a family-friendly celebration of Cajun culture, music, food, dancing, and community presented by the Cajun French Music Association Bayou Cajun Chapter.
ALLONS DANSER means “Come on and dance!” in Cajun French, and that is exactly what guests are invited to do on Saturday, June 13, at the Houma Municipal Auditorium, 880 Verret Street in Houma.
Doors open at 10 a.m., with live music beginning at noon from crowd favorite Benjamin Bruce and the Acadians. Guests can enjoy a full day of toe-tapping tunes, two-stepping, and Louisiana culture in a fun, welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
A free Cajun meal of shrimp jambalaya, white beans, salad, and bread will be served while supplies last. Drinks, chili, desserts, and sweets will also be available for purchase throughout the day.
Admission is $10 per person, and children under 12 get in free. The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle, cake walks, and plenty of opportunities to dance, visit, eat, and celebrate the traditions that keep Cajun culture alive in Terrebonne Parish.
Extra parking will be available behind the auditorium. Whether you are a seasoned Cajun dancer, still learning the steps, or just looking for a lively day out with family and friends, ALLONS DANSER is the place to be this summer.
