2025 “Waterlife Arts” Final Art Show & Reception

This event will feature works created during the “Waterlife Arts” workshop taught by bayou-native Brooks Frederick!

Waterlife Arts, an art workshop series at the Bayou Terrebonne Waterlife Museum, focused on emotional processing through art! This show will feature works by both the workshop participants and artist Brooks Frederick!

About the Artist/Instructor: Brooks Frederick is a Brooklyn/New Orleans based, classically trained painter who believes in the power of art to influence positive social change. His ‘oil’ portraits created in tar and oil recovered from the 2010 BP oil spill has been widely exhibited and used to spark creative community gatherings in support of environmental justice. Brooks teaches painting and drawing at Adelphi University and semi-private painting and drawing lessons at the Brooklyn Free school, as well as workshops in the greater New Orleans area
