2025 Annual Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest for Youth

The Houma Elks Lodge #1193 is excited to invite local youth to participate in the annual Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Houma First United Methodist Church (6109 LA-311, Houma, LA 70360).

The Elks Hoop Shoot is a nationally recognized free throw competition that has been “Unleashing Gritty Kids” for over 50 years. Open to boys and girls ages 8 to 13, the contest allows young athletes to showcase their basketball skills, build confidence, and compete for a spot in the prestigious National Finals in Chicago.

Why Participate?

• It’s Free! The competition is open to all qualifying youth at no cost.
• A Test of Grit & Determination. Contestants will compete in age-based brackets: 8-9, 10-11, and 12-13.
• Advance Through the Ranks. Winners will move on to District, State, and Regional competitions, with a chance to compete in the National Finals at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame!
• A Legacy of Champions. Six National Champions will have their names enshrined in basketball history.

How to Register

Participants should arrive at least 30 minutes early to register and warm up. Parents or guardians must accompany them to sign the necessary forms.
