Mulberry Elementary School’s 2nd annual Cougar Classic 5K & Fun Run will take place on Saturday, January 24, 2026. The “Little Cougars” 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:30am, followed by the Cougar Classic 5K at 9:00am. The race route will loop around Mulberry neighborhood, beginning and ending at Mulberry Elementary. We’ll be hosting our “Family Fun Day” after the race, which will take place on school grounds. There will be bounce houses, games, face painting, food trucks, music, and lots of fun activities for everyone!
This is such a great, family-friendly event for our entire community to come together and enjoy. Our amazing PE teachers work with our students to get them geared up and ready for the race. The kids get very excited and motivated, and the friendly competition makes it fun for everyone!
With the resounding success of last year’s Cougar Classic, we were able to meet our goal of providing a much-needed outdoor shade structure for our students and teachers! Proceeds from this year’s event will be used to further enhance Mulberry’s outdoor recess and PE areas.
Due to the substantial turnout and success of last year’s inaugural race, we’re excited to announce that we will have chipped timing this year! This will provide efficient and accurate finish times for our participants. Winners in top categories will be announced and presented with awards.
Registration opens on October 8th, and a T-shirt will be included with every registration through December 30th (online registration will remain open past Dec. 30th, but a T-shirt cannot be guaranteed past that date). Children are highly encouraged to participate (including students from other schools), as well as adults and all members of the public. Same-day registration will also be available!
