The Spirit of Travel in Bayou Country

In Louisiana’s Bayou Country, we are celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week which is held the week of May 3rd through 9th.  This year’s theme, the “Spirit of Travel”, permeates through our hotels, small businesses, restaurants, unique landmarks, and attractions.  Here at the Houma Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, we thank our resilient, hard-working, and dedicated tourism & hospitality industry partners for embodying the spirit of travel and providing a warm welcoming experience to residents and visitors alike.

It is the spirit of travel that makes our guests feel at home, provides lasting memories, and inspires thousands to travel to Louisiana’s Bayou Country each year. A warm welcome of “How y’all been?” and the savory taste of our world-famous Cajun offerings such as, crawfish etouffee or homemade gumbo is what our visitors look forward to. The beautiful scenery of our diverse bayou communities, saltwater marshes, and freshwater estuaries are waitin’ to be explored. Our Cajun music and easygoing way of life set the tone travelers are looking for.  In the meantime, we will be right here waitin’ for ya and cannot wait to “laissez les bon temps rouler” (let the good times roll) again in Bayou Country!
