Regular Schedule Meeting Minutes
July 25, 2024
I. Board and Staff Member Attendance

II. Meeting call to order: J. Ellender called the meeting to order at 8:36 a.m.
III. Roll Call: Quorum was present.
IV. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance: W. Bisland led the board in the Invocation. J. Ellender led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
V. Public to be heard: no one was present.
VI. Approval of the June 2024 Minutes: J. Smart moved to approve June 2024 minutes. Seconded by: C. Landry. Motion passed.
VII. Approval of the May 2024 Financials: The financial statements, including the budget to actual comparison for the general fund, for the month of May 2024 were presented by S. Corbitt. T. Hawthorne entered the meeting at 8:40 a.m. W. Bisland moved to approve the May 2024 Financials. Seconded by J. Smart. Motion passed.
VIII. Sponsorship Application Louisiana Retired Teachers Association: S. Corbitt provided an overview. M. Scoby moved to approve the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association for $6,000.00 with corrections to the budget area in application. Seconded by: T. Hawthorne. Motion passed.
IX. President/CEO Report: 2nd Quarterly Meeting, New Labor Law, Carry On Filming, Roder Video Segments, Women’s Business Alliance Presentation, Cane River Site Visit, New Business Secured, Soofa Kiosk, Carry On Analytics, Pride Picnic Discussion, Datafy Report, Schedule, Hotel updates, Staff updates, Visitor Center, Website Reports, and Monthly Occupancy Reports for May 2024.
X. Board Announcements: CoCo Marina Trump Boat Parade in September 2024, Shrimp Alliance, Jehovah Witness Conference, Southdown Night Against Crime, Military Museum Visits, and Residence Plantation Visits.
XI. Adjournment: M. Scoby moved to adjourn. Seconded by J. Smart. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 9:39 a.m.
