Regular Schedule Meeting Minutes
June 22, 2023
I. Board and Staff Member Attendance

II. Meeting call to order: J. Falgout called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.
III. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance: J. Falgout led the board in the Invocation. C. Blanchard led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
IV. Roll Call: Quorum was present.
V. Public to be heard: no one was present.
VI. Legislative Audit Presentation by Pernell Pellegrin: Pernell Pellegrin presented the 2022 Audit Presentation for the HACVB. Discussion followed on 2022 financials and audit review finished 2022 with an unmodified opinion and no audit findings. J. Smart moved to approve the 2022 audit. Seconded by: W. Bisland. Motion passed. P. Pellegrin exited the meeting at 8:46 a.m.
VII. Approval of the Minutes: W. Bisland moved to approve May’s minutes. Seconded by: C. Blanchard. Motion passed.
VIII. Approval of Financials: The financial statements, including the budget to actual comparison for the general fund, for the month of April 2023 were presented by W. Bisland. W. Bisland moved to approve the April 2023 Financials. Seconded by: J. Ellender. Motion passed.
IX. 2023 Amended Budget: S. Corbitt provided an overview of the amended budget. W. Bisland moved to approve the amended budget. Seconded by: J. Smart. Motion passed.
X. Executive Director’s Report: S. Corbitt provided the monthly report. Discussion: Occupancy rates, hotel updates, WWWLTV filming, Grants awarded, State CEA Agreement, Finding Our Roots African Mobile Museum, Tourism Day at the Capitol, Pride Picnic, upcoming staff events, Datafy reporting, Visitor Center update, Marketing update, Communication/Public Relations updates, Social Media/Digital Content updates, Sales updates, Group Tour updates, and Financial updates. G. Williams exited the meeting at 9:30 a.m.
XI. Board Announcements: Bayou Arts Council Wings, French Lessons, Southdown Plantation Membership, Pink Lady Fund Raiser, Winter Wonderland Festival, Seafood Industry, and African American Museum Mobile update.
XII. Adjournment: J. Falgout moved to adjourn. Seconded by J. Smart. Motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
