Regular Schedule Meeting Minutes

April 27, 2023

I. Board and Staff Member Attendance

II. Meeting call to order: J. Falgout called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.

III. Roll Call: Quorum was present.

IV. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance: J. Ellender led the board in the Invocation. J. Falgout led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.

V. Public to be heard: no one was present.

VI. Approval of Financials: The financial statements, including the budget to actual comparison for the general fund, for the month of February 2023 were presented by W. Bisland. W. Bisland moved to approve the February 2023 Financials. Seconded by: C. Blanchard. Motion passed.

VII. Approval of Minutes: W. Bisland presented the March 2023 minutes. W. Bisland moved to approve March’s Minutes. Seconded by: J. Ellender. Motion passed.

VIII. Sponsorship Application Houma High School Volleyball Summer Team Camp: L. Loupe provided an overview. Discussion: court fees, previous year sponsorships, datafy reports, and expenditures. J. Ellender moved to approve Houma High School Volleyball Summer Team Camp for $5,000.00. Seconded by: J. Smart. Motion passed.

IX. Executive Director’s Report: S. Corbitt provided the monthly report. Discussion: Occupancy rates, hotel updates, Ramada Inn update, Main Street Conference update, National Travel and Tourism Week update, LTA Dinner update, Louisiana Travel Association Board of Directors Meeting, Arts Council Letter of Support, Leadership Terrebonne Tourism-Economic Day, Datafy reports, Houma Restoration Board update, Houma Downtown Development Corporation update, upcoming travel, upcoming events, Visitor Center updates, Marketing updates, Communication/Public Relations updates, Social Media/Digital Content updates, Sales updates, Group Tour/Sports updates, and Financial updates.

X. Board Announcements: Regional Museum, Korea Day, Memorial Day events, We the People shrimp boil, African American Mobile Museum update, and Southdown Plantation.

XI. Adjournment: W. Bisland moved to adjourn. Seconded by J. Smart. Motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 9:36 a.m.
